Feedflix visualizes your Netflix rental habits. Its also wicked sweet.

October 12, 2008

Netflix analysis has never been easier with free product feedflix (feedflix.com).  Simply enter an RSS feed into the feedflix awesomizer (i made that up, it doesnt have a name, but its at the bottom of the page) and it will give you usage details that can help you get the most out of your netflix account.  Including, average time movies are kept, cost per movie based on return rate and you can setup alerts to let you know you have kept movies at home too long.

Watch any youtube video in HD.

October 7, 2008

I’m sure this is wicked old news, but to watch any youtube video in HD simply add the following code to the end of the url.  [&fmt=6] or [&fmt=18]  Without the [].  The 6 gives you 900kbs (flv)/96kbs Mono (mp3) and 18 bumps it to: 512kbs (mp4) /128kbs stero (AAC).

You will also need to enable your account to play higher quality videos.  To do so click Account — More — then under the account heading select — Video Playback Quality , Select “Choose my video quality dynamically based on the current connection speed.” Then just click save settings.

Here are some example videos (note the new code at the end of each link) with the different formats.  Note: youtube wont allow embedded HD streaming, so Ive just posted links.
